One of the best ways to support family members of children or young adults with combined vision and hearing loss is to provide tips from personal experience, as well as a place to share concerns and ask questions.  Among many things that we can provide are:

  1. Ideas on how to build positive school/family relationship;
  2. Ideas on how to overcome challenges such as medical issues, recreational opportunities, employment and community participation;
  3. Tips on how to share your story effectively;
  4. Ideas about how to advocate for your child;
  5. Tips on preparing for your child's IEP meeting;
  6. Referrals to organizations that may be able to provide additional support and information; and
  7. A friend/ally who will listen.
